Liesl posing pretty

Thankful for my Wonderful Mom!

This picture of my Mom was taken in 1994, the year my Jessica was born.

Wanted to add the story about this picture...
June 3rd my daughter Jessica was born. June 15th was my Grandmothers  75th birthday. She lived in Port St Lucie Florida and there was a big surprise party planned. We were attending. Mom, Baby Jessica and myself and I think Christie too. We drove to Florida and showed up at Grandma's brothers house just a little bit before the party and we got all dressed up and ready. Hid in the bedroom. Once Grandma got there and she was sat down in her birthday chair, they told her they had a surprise for her and she had to close her eyes and hold out her arms. She did just that. She was so pretty sitting there not knowing what she was about to get!! I walked out and placed Jessica in her arms. She was SO surprised, she starting crying as we all did!!

Chemo treatment #2 for Mom

Today was Mom's treatment number two... I am so glad that I can be with her during this journey. I am saddened that we must go through this journey, but I am here for my Mom no matter what. She is my Idol, my Hero. She gave birth to me and she has been a terrific mother to me all my life. I owe her my life, my world. Anything I can do to make her smile, make her happy, make this journey easier you can bet your last dollar, I am doing everything in my power to make that happen!
We arrived at the hospital at 9:30. I had a secret that was in the making for her. I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a angel. Mom stood up and took her coat off and just sat back down, then I heard the elevator. I knew mom's angel was about to walk off that elevator. And then, there she was!!  Megan.. Mom was shocked and I think she said Oh my God, Megan! She almost cried!!  Said she wanted to, but she held the tears back. Megan stood there with a box of the most beautiful Daffodils! Operation Daffodil was a success!!
They hugged and their eyes did the talking. My eyes welled in tears. Many many thanks to Megan for that moment. One that I will never forget!!  And thanks Jo, for helping us out!! Sorry Margy, that we blew your idea for Sunday..LOL
They hooked her up through the port in her chest. She winced at the pain, but she was a trooper!!  The blood work, the fluid, the anti nausea med and the chemo were pain free from that point on. I went and got Mom a cheeseburger from the cafeteria. She ate almost all of it. We were going to go for a steak and a good drink, but Mom felt bad as I had been up for nearly 24hrs. But like I said, I would do anything for my mom..even it it meant no sleep for 48 hrs!!
I got mom home. We pulled in the driveway and there sat the darn trashcan in the middle of the driveway. I get out and put the lid back on... and put it where it belonged. Mom not sure that I had the lid on tight gets out and makes sure..lol well with the wind blowing so hard, it took her breath away. I get her inside and she needed her inhaler. I get that for her and she used it three times. I ended up having to get her O2 down from the bedroom and she put that on. I am sure that it helped her. Gave her her new medicines and then after making sure she was all good, I left for home. She worries so much about her babies...she stressed over and over, please don't fall asleep going home. I assured her I would not and she gave me strict instructions to call her when I got home. Don't worry, I did as I was told!!
Spoke to Mom when I woke up...at 8pm and she was doing good. Had rested and napped since I had left. The pain med made her pretty groggy. Hope that will ease up as she gets used to it!
Now that I have figured out how to set up a blogging page... lets see how long I will keep this up!!
Much love to all of the Momsters and Dadsters... You are my Mom's best friends and family and I am proud to be involved with a great bunch of the best friends a person could ask for!!  <3

Operation Daffodil a Success!!
